TV REVIEW: Call the Midwife
My family began watching Call the Midwife at our cabin hoping my Nana would enjoy it (no worries, my Nana is picky, but has pretty good taste in television). The BBC drama, based on the memoirs of Jennifer Worth, follows the lives of several young midwives working in the East End of London in the 1950s. If you can stomach each episodes’ obligatory birthing scene, it’s a solid period drama with several interesting female characters. My personal favorite is the lovably awkward Chummy. Call your grandma and have her over for the afternoon, because the first two seasons can be found on Netflix.
